Member of a team under Professional Management to undertake a “Mid-Term Evaluation of the regional programme ‘Towards a non-toxic environment in South East Asia’” for the Swedish Chemical Agency.

Single consultant for UNEP. Mid-term Evaluation of the ACP-EU Water Facility supported project on “Improving Water Management and Governance in African Countries through Support in Development and Implementation of IWRM Plans“. The project is implemented in 7 West-African countries by UNEP/DHI.

12/2007 – 09/2008

Member of the team of authors for the 3rd World Water Development Report, WWDR: “Water in a Changing World”, contracted by UNESCO WWAP (World Water Assessment Programme).

Lead author and analyst of “Freshwater in Climate Adaptation Planning and Climate Adaptation in Freshwater Planning”, a Side-publication to the 3rd WWDR. Contracted by UNDP Water Governance Facility.

Member of a team to contracted by UNDP do a “Study and a Proposal on a Global Trust Fund on Water”.

Advisor to the Water Action Unit and supported by World Water Council in the preparations for the 3rd World Water Forum, 2003.

Team leader for a SIWI-team and also sub-consultant to SIWI for the Sida financed project to, in cooperation with responsible person at EC DG-Development prepare a “Communication to the European Council and Parliament on Water and Development”

01 – 04/2000

Team leader for a SIWI-team and also sub-consultant to SIWI for a project financed by the European Parliament, Directorate General for Research on “Water and Development in the Developing Countries”. The study aimed at proposing recommendations to the European Parliament in its work with EU on these issues.

1997 – 2007

Assigned by GEF/UNDP, GEF/UNEP and by GEF/World Bank to do GEF STAP reviews of International Waters’ projects:

  • In 1997 a review of the GEF/UNDP Tumen River SAP project,
  • In early 2001 of the first phase of the GEF/UNDP project to strengthening implementation capacities for nutrient reduction and transboundary cooperation in the Danube River Basin,
  • In September 2001 the review of the GEF/World Bank Senegal River project,
  • In early 2003 the initial and the final technical STAP review of the GEF/UNDP Niger project and the final technical STAP review of the GEF/UNDP Danube project, both presented for the GEF Council in May 2003,
  • In August 2003 the review of the GEF/World Bank Hai Basin project,
  • During early 2005 the GEF/STAP review of a project in Fouta Djallon, West Africa for GEF/UNEP, and
  • In 2006 a project in Kagera River Basin, part of the Nile River Basin for GEF/UNEP.
  • In 2006 engaged by GEF/UNEP as consultant on a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis for the Amur River basin in Russia/ China/ Mongolia, a project that should have been reshaped and restarted late 2007.
